christmas and torture go together like peas and carrots

With the holiday season upon us, I felt this picture was fitting. (Copyright - Detroit Free Press). It is absolutely inhumane to support this type of labor. Out of sight, out of mind? Bullshit. Greed and ignorance are the new integrity and compassion. The following link is to the Clean Clothes Campaign. It has loads of relevant information as well as a Companies link that lists those suspected of child labor. These companies include Adidas, Asics, Fila, The Gap, Kappa, Levi's, Nike, Polo, Puma, Reebok, Walmart, among others. Try to avoid supporting these bloodthirsty corporations this year.

Another issue filling the news these days is that of torture, or "cruel and unusual punishment", or "the US's ability to successfully combat terrorism", or whatever new propaganda-filled phrase those tyrants W., Dick, and Condi have to describe it this week. It's a shame that this administration has scared the shit out of its own supporters, especially those in high ranks who fear losing their jobs, that they refuse to speak up. However, we have a say in this as well. The following link allows you to easily send an email prepared by Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) to your Congressional Representative. The email demands that we keep Senator McCain's anti-torture amendment.

Your Action Can Stop Torture

On a lighter note, I just read Christopher Walken's 2008 Platform to run for President and I was quite impressed. For more information go to the following link:
